This prompt is useful for creators and solopreneurs thinking about creating their next online course. 🔧 Tool Deep Dive: Upscale your images with Magnific

I got early access to Magnific this week and it’s one of the most interesting AI tools I’ve seen lately. It’s an AI image upscaler and enhancer, but different.

Most existing image upscalers take one pixel and use learned patterns to predict and add extra pixels (the ones I’ve tried in the past didn’t get me great results to be honest.) But Magnific actually uses a generative AI engine in the background and generates an entirely new image, that just “resembles” the original image closely. This allows it to “hallucinate” new details into the image as well and the results are pretty incredible.

The photos look way more crisp after running them through the engine.

It also works well with AI-generated faces, by adding more details and turning the portrait into a more realistic version:

In the dashboard you’re able to add your own prompt to “guide” the upscaled image, as well as adjust several variables:

💡 Learning: How people are already monetizing GPTs

GPTs were released by OpenAI about 3 weeks ago. As a reminder, this is the feature in ChatGPT that let’s you build your own custom chatbots with your own data. You can then share access to the chatbot and let other people use it as well.

While OpenAI has announced that they will soon release a marketplace and allow for monetization of GPTs, some folks have taken this matter into their own hands and have started monetizing their GPTs in creative ways.

Pieter Levels (@levelsio on X) created a GPT app that rates your dating profile pics and gives you advice on how to improve them. He has now set up a simple paywall to his GPT. After a payment of $9.99, customers get access to his GPT app.

Nick Dobos (@NickADobos on X) has created a GPT that helps programmers work more efficiently. His GPT is free to use and it’s monetized through an in-app link to a tipjar, which has now made him over $2k.

So if you know how to write great prompts and have access to high-quality, propriety data targeted for a specific task, now is a great time to start building a GPT and start monetizing it. We are still super early!
