Clone Your Writing Style with ChatGPT

How to Transform ChatGPT into Your Personal Content Engine

Read time: 6 minutes

Hello and welcome to another post on The Prompt Warrior!

As always, my mission is to transform you into an AI prompt expert by providing valuable tips, insightful examples, and effective best practices.

In this edition, I'll show you how to train ChatGPT on your writing style, so you can transform it into your personal content generation machine.

A lot of people have asked me how to do this, so I'm excited to dive into the details today.

Let's jump right in.

🗺 Step 1: Gather your examples

The first thing you'll want to do is collect some examples of your past writing. These could be your past blog posts, emails, or even tweets.

We will want to use these to feed into ChatGPT so that it can learn from the writing style of those examples.

Choose wisely, since these will determine your output later.

✍️ Step 2: Write your prompt

Next, we will construct the initial prompt for ChatGPT.

You can copy and paste the prompt below:

You are my personal content generation machine. I will provide you with examples of my writing and you will emulate it.

Step-by-step process:
- You will start out by asking me to provide you the examples.
- I will start feeding you examples of my past writing.
- You will keep asking me to provide you examples, until I say "END OF DATA".
- You will then use all of the examples that I have provided and emulate the style and tone of the writing.
- When I request, you will generate text that emulates exactly my writing style and become my personal content generation machine.

🏃‍♂️ Step 3: Start training

After initializing the prompt above, ChatGPT will prompt you to paste in the examples. I recommend adding about 3-5 examples consecutively.

In my case, I'm adding my three previous newsletter posts from The Prompt Warrior:

When you’ve added your 3-5 examples, just type “END OF DATA”:

🪄 Step 4: See the magic happen

The final step is easy. Simply type in your new topic that you would like ChatGPT to write about and watch the magic unfold.

I'd estimate that the result represents approximately 90% of the final product. I wouldn't send out the post exactly as it is, but rather use it as a base to modify and add the final 10% of finishing touches.

So, don't worry - this newsletter won't become fully AI-generated just yet 😉. However, you can see how using ChatGPT effectively can be a significant time-saver.
